Two-step verification, or two-factor authentication (2FA) or multi-factor authentication (MFA), is an extra layer of security to prove your identity, when trying to log in to online services (banking, email , etc.). Similarly in Microsoft 365, after entering the username and password, users are required to confirm their identity with one of the following authentication methods:
• A notification in their mobile through the Microsoft Authenticator App (recommended).
• A Call to their Phone
• A Text message (code) to their Phone
• A Verification Code in an alternate Email address.
